Chain of Events Part 2
Then there are those who create our chain of events…..
The other day I had several meetings scheduled with potential clients. One at 11:00, then another meeting at 3:00, 5 & 6:30.
My husband was sick and I finally convinced him that he needed to see the Dr. I offered to take him the next day, because this day was quite busy and I didn’t want to loose the potential clients. Besides, growing my business is important right? All along that morning, I wanted to call the first client and confirm, but something else came in the way of making that call. So I made the Dr’s appointment for the next day. On the way to the meeting, I made the call to confirm. The client on the other end said she was glad I called because she needed to reschedule. This is when I grit my teeth and wish that I would have listened to myself, stopped what I was doing and called to confirm with her earlier. By that time it was too late to cancel my other meetings and have already scheduled the dr. appointment for the next day.
If I had listened to “me” to my inerself, I would have been able to take my husband to the dr., which in turn would have made his night easier to sleep, instead of sleeping on the couch propped up, I would have felt better about myself. Instead, I put others in front of myself and in front of my husband’s needs. You can be sure I will never do that again. (I should read my own blog often to remind myself of this)
Others can try to control us, but don’t be fooled, we still have the control over our actions and reactions.
